A Prayer for Being Saved from Falling into The Eight Hells

The Eight Hells represent the suffering of a person who gives in to harmful emotions. Yielding to them is suffering, and the way to end it is to overcome these destructive states of mind. The aim of the following prayer is to help recognize these states, and to encourage overcoming them.

A Prayer for Being Saved from Falling into The Eight Hells:

Let us subdue pride, and so be saved from falling into freezing hells.

Let us master anger, and so be saved from falling into burning hells.

Let us overcome fear, and so be saved from falling into pitch black hells.

Let us escape sadness, and so be saved from falling into hells of falling rocks.

Let us ride out the storm of desires, and so be saved from falling into hells of whirlpools.

Let us not be misled by the mirages of euphoria, and so be saved from falling into hells of lifeless deserts.

Let us cast away doubts about the absolute worth of virtue, and so be saved from falling into hells of screams.

Let us eradicate malice in our hearts, and so be saved from falling into the hells of predators.
